About

A2UI is a protocol developed by Google for creating agent-driven interfaces. It enables AI agents to generate rich, interactive user interfaces that render natively across web, mobile, and desktop platforms without executing arbitrary code. Currently in v0.8 (Public Preview), A2UI aims to solve the problem of safely sending rich UIs across trust boundaries by using declarative component descriptions. Key features include being secure by design (declarative data, no executable code), LLM-friendly (flat, streaming JSON), framework-agnostic (works with Angular, Flutter, React, etc.), and supporting progressive rendering for real-time UI updates. The project is Apache 2.0 licensed and in active development on GitHub.
